Abstract

Recently, lecture slides like PDF documents are distributed at the online in almost all classrooms in universities, medical centers and hospitals by utilizing ICT. In these cases, each student or staff will browse slides and take a note with editor application software like the Microsoft Word. If there is no portable PCs or smartphones, we must print out PDF data on papers and take a memo on the papers, but the handwritten information on papers may be not reuse later. That situation is the unfortunate case of ICT utilization. In this article, we describe development and utilization of a lecture support system. Our study's aim is to simplify managing data for all students and teachers. Since generally PDF slides are actually read-only, we have implemented a web system of automatically rebuilding new PDF documents which has text-input-fields to edit notes. Also we added to the system one more function which rebuild new layout with several templates of notes. Therefore, students are able to download and use writable PDF documents suitable for themselves.
