Abstract
The purpose of this study is to Clarify the relationship between cytokinesis and calcium ion flow. It is generally known that the interactions between cytokines and receptors on the neutrophil surface are related to signaling by calcium ions. In this study, to clarify the effect of calcium ion concentration on the neutrophil propulsion mechanism, observation experiments with a microscopy are conducted. As calcium ion indicator, fura-2 is used. The time history of calcium ion concentration is obtained. As a result, it was found that both the cytokine concentration gradient on the membrane and the calcium ion concentration gradient inside the neutrophil periodically change and the frequency is almost same. It is concluded that calcium ions flow has correlation with cytokine flow.
