Abstract
The hydrodynamic cavitation with different orifice plate was investigated as a function of cavitation number. The pore diameter and number of orifice were changed. The chloroform and potassium iodine were used as sample. The I_3^- concentration increased linearly with time. The I_3^- formation rate becomes higher as the pressure at upstream of orifice plate increases. When the cavitation number was about 0.23, the I_3^- formation rate had a maximum value. With decreasing temperature, the I_3^- formation rate became higher due to the reduction of water vapor amount in cavity.
