Examination of Ion Exchange Reaction of Layer-Structured Titanates

Abstract

TiO₂ is well-known as a photocatalysis material. One of the synthesis method of TiO₂ is using ion exchange reaction of layer-structured titanates. K₂Ti₄O₉, one of layer-structured titanates, with ion exchange ability in water, HCl, HNO₃, H₂SO₄ and water with an ion exchange resin was measured in terms of TG/DTA and XRD analysis. More ion exchange was occurred in water with an ion exchange resin than without it. And in acids it is more exchanged than in water and in water and an ion exchagne resin.
