Abstract

Effect of adding Y₂O₃-CaO-AlB₂ for low temperature sintering of AlN ceramics was investigated using weight loss, XRD measurements and SEM observation. Samples of AlN with Y₂O₃-CaO-AlB₂ sintered at 1650∼1700°C for 4hours were almost densified. It was found that addition of AlB₂ to AlN-Y₂O₃-CaO is effective for sintering low temperature as addition of LaB₆.
