Abstract
Porous and hollow hydroxyapatite (HAp) particles were prepared around alginate gel matrices with the aid of urease to supply hydroxyl ion (OH-) as the precipitant. The resultant HAp particles, about 1mm in diameter, had a shell of 150mm thickness.
