Abstract
Luminescence properties of Y2O3:Tb3+ thin films obtained by the chemical-vapor-deposition (CVD) method have been investigated by combination of the photoluminescence (PL) and cahodoluminescence (CL) techniques. An existence of two luminescence bands peaked at 480nm and 550 nm with almost equal intensities have been confirmed from the PL measurements. This situation considerably differs from the case of CL spectra where the band at 550 nm is found to be much intensive. This fact increases a potentiality for the Y2O3:Tb3+ thin films to be utilized in green-color field emission displays.
