Preparation of inorganic-organic hybrids dispersed liquid crystal molecules in silica matrix and their property

Abstract

Inorganic-organic hybrids dispersed liquid crystal molecules in silica matrix were prepared by sol-gel method. Prepared inorganic-organic hybrid sols were transparent and homogeneous due to existence of π-πinteractions. From nitrogen adsorption measurement, it was found that the calcined sample had ultra-micropores (less than 1nm).
