Abstract
The crystallization process was analyzed mathematically for Li2O·2SiO2 glass in order to obtain the relationship between the number density of nuclei measured by two stage heat treatment and the crystallization peak temperature measured by DTA. In this analysis, the temperature dependence of critical radius of nuclei was taken into consideration. It was found that the size of nuclei which contributes to crystallization depends on the heating rate and that the number of nuclei measured by two stage heat treatment and that contributes to the crystallization in DTA measurement are different.
