Abstract
Ferromagnetic properties of LaMn0.5Ni0.5O3 were investigated by powder x-ray diffraction, XANES, magnetic susceptibility, and heat capacity measurements.XANES clarified that valences of Mn and Ni atoms are tetravalent and divalent, respectively.A long-range ferromagnetic ordering occurs at around 280 K.Thermal treatment above 1300 K has an influence on the ferromagnetic properties, which is discussed based on an ordered arrangement of Mn and Ni atoms.
