Abstract
Over the past ten years, low-temperature co-firing ceramic (LTCC) technology has advanced to such an extent that it now allows the integration of a variety of passive functions within a single LTCC module. The integration would, however, be much more efficient if it was possible to co-fire LTCC layers with different functionalities. This realization has resulted in the development of new LTCC materials becoming one of the main goals for the LTCC industry. In this contribution the development of (Ba0.7Sr0.3)TiO3 ceramics that sinter below 900°C and are fully compatible with LTCC technology will be presented. Within the LTCC module such a layer can be used as a high-permittivity capacitor or a tunable dielectric layer.
