Abstract
Abastract: Mica-containing glass-ceramics of Li2O-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system joined with Zirconia of different quantity percent (from 0 to 15wt%) were prepared by adopting melting process production technology. The materials′ crystal and microstructure were identified by DTA•SEM•XRD and EPMA experiments. The relation of crystal microstructure and mechanic performances was analyzed at different crystal temperature and heat preservation time. And at the same conditions, how the quantity of zirconia affected the microstructure and mechanic performances was also studied. The experiment indicates that the mechanic performances of glass-ceramics improve with the increase of zirconia. This is mainly because of various toughening mechanisms of zirconia addition, including transformation toughening, microcrack toughening and crack deflection toughening. Key words: glass-ceramics, Zirconia, toughen, melting process
