Abstract
Industrial solid wastes and municipal refuse incineration ash have been used as a raw material of cements in recent year. As a result, there is the possibility that zinc, chrome and copper, etc., which have adverse effects on cement hydration, are fixed in the cement clinker. Hydration of zinc compounds: C14A5Z6, C3A2Z and ZA, which are thought to form in the cement clinker, are reported in this symposium. Heat of initial hydration was larger in the order of C14A5Z6>C3A2Z>>ZA, and that of ZA was hardly measured. According to the data of XRD analysis, C14A5Z6 produced CZ2H5, C2AH8 and ZH. Though C2AH8 and C3AHX were produced by the hydration of C3A2Z, no crystalline hydrates including zinc were confirmed. On the other hand, ZA was not hydrated at all after a month.
