Abstract

Recently, we have successfully obtained highly Tb₂O₃-concentrated B₂O₃-Ga₂O₃-SiO₂-P₂O₅ glass, which exhibits excellent Faraday Rotation effect. In the present work, f-d transition energy of Tb³⁺ ions in the glass was investigated in excitation spectra, which was interpreted in correlation with results of Judd-Ofelt analysis of the glass.
