Porous Ceramics for Building Materials by in situ Solidification Method Using Natural Gels and Waste Resources

Abstract

Natural gels were used to the fabrication of porous ceramics consisting of waste resources by in situ solidification method. The effect of gel concentration on wet and green bodies was investigated. The strength of wet green bodies for compressive load increased with gel concentration. On the other hand, the flexural strength of dry green bodies depended on their porosity rather than on gel concentration.
