Abstract
CuOy-ZnO-P2O5 and CuOy-BaO-P2O5 glass systems (0.5+ ion in the glasses. It is considered that this is related to the decrease in cross link density with the addition of 2-fold coordinated coppers in glass. In addition, it is found that a lower basicity of CuOy-ZnO-P2O5 glass than that of CuOy-BaO-P2O5 is responsible for the relative stability of Cu+ ion in the glass.
