Abstract
We synthesized a novel barium niobium copper oxide, Ba4Nb3.16Cu0.13O12by high-temperature reaction, which was isostructural with Ba4M3LiO12(M=Nb or Ta). The single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that this compound crystallize in the hexagonal space group P63/mmc(#194) with a=5.827(3)Å and c=19.068(5)Å, and the final R factors were R=0.050 and Rw=0.065 for 371 unique reflections.
