Abstract
Lithium ionic conductor, (La,Li)TiO3 ceramics (LLTO), was synthesized by sintering La2O3-Li2O-TiO2 amorphous spheres at various temperatures. Single crystalline LLTO ceramics required calcination at 700°C and sintering at temperatures higher than 1200°C because of decomposition of La2CO5. Lithium ionic conductivity of LLTO ceramics derived from the amorphous spheres showed 4.0 ×10-3 S cm-1 at room temperature. In addition, Li4Ti5O12 particles were obtained by firing Li2O-TiO2 amorphous spheres at 800°C for 1 min in air. Both LLTO and LTO spheres prepared with amorphous spheres can be applied to all-solid-state lithium micro-batteries.
