Abstract

Boemite plate like crystals were synthesized by hydrothermal method. Larger crystals were formed under alkaline conditions. In order to increase the size of the crystals, pH of the suspension in the autoclave was fluctuated at 250°C in the range of 13.00-13.15 by adding 1 M NaOH and 3M Al(NO3)3 solutions alternately. Large plate like crystals with 5μm in size were formed by 100 times fluctuation.
