Preparation and properties of rare earth orthovanadate

Abstract

The preparations of LnVO₄ by a wet precipitation method were investigated. The properties of the LnVO_{4 ceramics were clarified. The LnVO4 ceramics were stable in aqueous solutions of NH40H and NaOH at 20°C. The LnVO4 ceramics were found to be machinable; they could be drilled easily using a conventional metallic drill bit, and LnVO4 didn' t react with major ceramics (TiO2, Al2O3, ZrO2 etc.) under high temperature.}
