There is an only compound of CuAl2O4 in CuO-Al2O3 system and the compound is reported to decompose into each oxide below 800°C. The phase of CuAl2O4 was not formed by the reaction of at 750°C for 24h in air. On the other hand, CuAl2O4 was formed by the reaction of copper nitrate and aluminum nitirate at 700°C for 24h. The result suggests the phase of CuAl2O4 is also stable at the low temperature such as room temperature.
