Abstract
Nano-indentation tests with a Berkovich diamond indenter are conducted for examining the gelling process of polyphenylsilsesquioxane hybrid films. A mathematical algorithm is formulated for quantitatively analyzing the indentation-generated stress-relaxation data. The viscoelastic functions of the films are, then, correlated to the microstructural evolution in the gelling process.
