Abstract
We have studied the NOx reduction system in the presence of excess oxygen. This catalyst system has a laminated structure of NOx removal catalyst and solid electrolyte layers, and can decompose NOx and eliminate O2 in gas mixture, simultaneously. In this study, gadolinium-doped ceria (CGO) was selected as a solid electrolyte due to its higher O2- conductivity rather than YSZ at lower temperature. However, CGO does not have enough fracture strength, so we attempted the improvement of mechanical properties of CGO by dispersing Al2O3 particles with high strength. And, we evaluated the electrical and catalytic properties of Al2O3-CGO based catalyst system.
