Abstract
In this study we present metamaterials designed by FDTD method and measured by a modified free space method. The metamaterials were composed from copper wires in layers inside a wax matrix made by a rapid prototyping machine of Solidscape Co.. We made this construction in order to study easily the changes of internal properties of metamaterials without to have complications in construction from the use of dielectric ceramic materials as matrix. In our case dielectric material was the wax. The results show a change of effective dielectric constant of material for different orientations of the incident electric field and different geometries. Our analysis was concetrated to microwave frequency areas..
