Abstract
It is well known that the stress-induced transformation from tetragonal structure to monoclinic structure occurs in CeO2-ZrO2 ceramics. In this study, we investigated orientation relation of this transformation by SEM/EBSP method. Furthermore, the orientation relations between tetragonal grain and transformed monoclinic grain were analyzed by using pole figure, and then we investigated whether the variant selection existed for this transformation. As results, it was clarified that this transformation mainly occurred around cracks and the variant selection of stress-induced transformation around cracks initiated by Vickers indentation was observed by SEM/EBSP method.
