Abstract
We have already reported that a porous TiO2 wire was prepared by utilizing two-liquid phase separation in TiO2-SiO2 system and subsequent selective leaching of SiO2-rich phase and that it was able to photocatalytically machine the surfaces of polyimide thin films which are mechanically hard and chemically inactive. A Self-assembled monolayer (SAM) is applied to the various applications such as protective coating on a surface of silicon, the arrangements of organic or biological molecules and the sensor chips for DNA or protein. In this study, the local photocatalytic decomposition of SAM was examined by use of the porous TiO2 wire.
