Abstract
Composite material consisting of nylon6 and silver iodide (AgI) was prepared by in-situ reaction of the nylon6 complex with Ag+ ion, and its structure and properties were investigated. In oriented nylon6 film, a large amount of Beta-AgI anisotropic particles was formed in the direction parallel to oriented chain axis. The transition temperature from Beta-AgI to Alpha-AgI in the composite was more than 20 deg C lowered than that of bulk AgI. The one of the cause of lowering the transition temperature is the excess Ag+ ion in AgI.
