Abstract
Core-shell particles were prepared via layer-by-layer assembly of oppositely charged polyelectrolytes on colloidal templates. Hollow capsules were obtained by removal of the core templates. The obtained capsules were functionalized by additional coatings with lipid bilayer and SiO2-TiO2 films or phosphotungstic acid (WPA). A dye was infiltrated into the hollow capsules, and the UV responsive property of the SiO2-TiO2 capsules was investigated from the release of the infiltrated dye due to the photocatalytic activity of TiO2. On the other hand, WPA deposited sample have a high potential for protonic devices.
