Abstract
BaTi2O5 (BT2) body was prepared by pressureless sintering in air using BaCO3 and TiO2 as starting materials at 1150~1290 oC for 2 hours. Effect of additives on the structural stability BT2 sintering body was studied. BT2 decomposed easily with increasing sintering temperature and content of SrO and Nb2O5. At the content of 1mol% SrO, the main phase of the sintered bodies at 1150~1200 oC was BT2 and a small amount of BaTiO3 was identified. BT2 was not obtained when Nb2O5 was added. BT2 in a single phase was obtained when B2O3 was added. Permittivity of the SrO added BT2 sintered bodies at 1200oC showed a peak value of about 260 at 477 oC at 100 kHz.
