Abstract
To investigate a controlled delivery device for protein drug, BSA-loaded Hydroxyapatite microparticles (HAp) were coated with poly (lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) by solid in oil in water solvent evaporation technique. Morphology of coated particles was observed by SEM. The in vitro release study was carried out in physiological buffer solution. An amount of BSA loaded on HAp microparticles was 83 mg/g of HAp. BSA was successfully released from HAp microparticles. The smooth surfaces were observed from HAp microparticles coated with various concentrations of PLGA solution and the sustained release profiles of BSA were obtained from these particles. Using PLGA coating on HAp microparticles is potential way to obtain the controlled release system for BSA.
