Abstract
Phase separation in alkoxy-derived silica sol-gel system has been studied in the presence of several kinds of anionic surfactants. Surfactants with sulfonate and 18, 16, and 14 hydrocarbons exhibited polymerization-induced phase separation parallel to the sol-gel transition, which gave characteristic macroporous morphologies.
