Abstract
We present a simple and effective preparation route of a Pd thin film, a candidate material for an optical H2 gas sensor operated at room temperature. The Pd films were prepared on a glass substrate by r.f. magnetron sputtering. The Pd films prepared by using electroplating and electroless plating processes exhibited a clear sensing response in optical transmittance in the presence of H2 gas at room temperature.
