Abstract
Nanocrystals are positioned in the intermediate phase between single molecules and bulk crystals. They are expected to be novel nanomaterials, which would show interesting optical and magnetic properties based on confinement size effects and as well as other factors. Recently, we have demonstrated that the reprecipitation method can easily fabricate organic nanocrystals from the solutions in their nonsolvents. We have, thus, discovered interesting size-dependant optical properties of organic nanocrystals compared with those of semiconductors or metals. In this presentation, we will introduce our fabrication technique of organic nanocrystals and their application development.
