Abstract
Series of 0.5% Eu2+ activated Ba2-xSrxZnS3:Eu2+ phosphor materials were synthesized using polymerzable complex method. The unit cell of Sr doped sample can be identified as orthorhombic belonging to a2MnS3 structure type. Sr substitution into Ba site results in the enhanced emission intensity of red light due to the higher internal quantum efficiency and leads to the blue shift of the emission peak to the range with higher human eye sensitivity. The excitation maximum at 450 nm makes this material a prospective phosphor for applications in combination with blue-LED.
