Abstract

Oxidation behaviors of GLC in H₂SO₄ , HNO₃ and H₂O₂ aq. at 70 degrees C were studied with SEM , optical microscope and by weight measurement. Sulfur was detected with GLC soaked in conc.H₂SO₄ , although no change was detected in surface morphology. Lots of cracks were formed at to the depth of 18 um the surface of GLC soaked in conc.HNO₃ , although N-containing species was not detected with XPS. Voids were formed at the GLC surface treated in H₂O₂ aq.(30%)
