Oxidation behaviors of GLC in H2SO4 , HNO3 and H2O2 aq. at 70 degrees C were studied with SEM , optical microscope and by weight measurement. Sulfur was detected with GLC soaked in conc.H2SO4 , although no change was detected in surface morphology. Lots of cracks were formed at to the depth of 18 um the surface of GLC soaked in conc.HNO3 , although N-containing species was not detected with XPS. Voids were formed at the GLC surface treated in H2O2 aq.(30%)
