Preparation of ZnO-Magadiite Nanocomposites

The ZnO-magadiite nanocomposites were prepared by an ion-exchange technique. TEM measurements show that the ZnO nanoparticles with a relatively uniform particle size of 2.5 – 5 nm are well dispersed in the interlaminar spaces of the magadiite compound: Na2Si14O29nH2O, and the crystallinity of the ZnO nanoparticles seems to increase with the increasing heat-treatment temperature in air.
