Abstract
Crystallization of low melting glasses containing bismuth oxide was studied by means of XRD, SEM, and EPMA. Glass compositions used in this study were 40Bi2O3-(40-x)B2O3-(20+x)TiO2 (mol%) system. These glasses were crystallized at the crystallization temperature of each glass. The crystals were identified using XRD. These crystals were Bi2Ti2O7, Bi6B10O24 and Bi4Ti3O12. The crystal which crystallized 40Bi2O3-40B2O3-20TiO2 glass was almost Bi6B10O24. On the other hand, the crystal of 40Bi2O3-25B2O3-35TiO2 glass was Bi4Ti3O12 and Bi2Ti2O7. 40Bi2O3-25B2O3-35TiO2 glass was heat-treated at each temperature. As a result, it is found that the crystal becomes only Bi4Ti3O12 crystal at 700C.
