Abstract
We have recently developed the low-melting organic-inorganic hybrid silicophosphate glasses, which are prepared by mixing orthophosphoric acid with organically-modified chlorosilane or organically-modified ethoxysilane at low temperature (< 300ºC). They have shown the low water resistance in the ambient atmosphere. In this study, we have prepared durable low-melting glasses using aluminum alkoxide as a starting regent. According to 27Al MAS NMR study, we have concluded that almost all aluminum alkoxide react with phosphoric acid and the coordination number of aluminum is six. The resonance structure of Al3+ and the doubly-bonded oxygen on P improves the water durability of the glass.
