Abstract
Barium titanate (BaTiO3) ceramics with various grain sizes were prepared by a conventional sintering method, a two-step sintering method, and a rate-control sintering method. The dielectric permittivity of the ceramics increased with decreasing grain size down to 1 μm. On the other hand, at grain size below 1 μm, the dielectric permittivity decreased with decreasing grain size. It was clarified that the grain size dependence of the permittivity was due to the domain size effect.
