Abstract

To evaluate the movement of a droplet on superhydrophobic surfaces (Contact angle: 150 o <), the experimental system was assembled. We prepared ZnO coating with nanoscale roughness on the surface of a tube of SiO2 glass. Then, transparent superhydrophobic coatings were obtained. Water droplets on a superhydrophobic surface have high mobility by applying weak external force (Electric field, Gravitation, and Airstream). Rolling/slipping ratio depended on the droplet volume.
