Synthesis and dielectric properties of perovskite-type oxide,Bi_1/2Ag_1/2TiO₃

Abstract

We synthesized a perovskite-type oxide Bi_1/2Ag_1/2TiO₃ (BAT) with high bulk density and resistivity under oxygen atmosphere to confirm the ferroelectricity. As a result, we obtain the sample with high density sample (relative density=96.2%) by optimizing the temperature of the heat treatment of starting material, Bi₂O₃, and the sintering condition. Anomalies in dielectric constant were observed at 400∼500 K, and 700 K, which would correspond to the phase transitions.
