Abstract

Corrosion mechanism of aluminum titanate (AT) ceramics used in molten aluminum alloy for aluminum casting was investigated thermodynamically. The corrosion progressed not only in the direct contact region with the molten alloy, but also through space between the ceramic surface and alloy.
