Abstract
LiFePO4 is well known as candidate for the cathode material in lithium ion second battery. In previous study, we proposed that novel preparation method of LiFePO4 ceramics from Li2O-Fe(II)O-Nb2O5-P2O5 precursor glass. In this study we found that LiFePO4 can be obtained by reduction heat treatment from 33.3Li2O-33.3Fe(III)2O3-33.3P2O5 precursor glass, which is prepared by conventional melt quenching method in air. It found that the presence of Fe3+ is a effect for the glass formation.
