Abstract
In order to develop new bright phosphors with long-lasting mechanoluminescence(ML), we prepared ZnS:Mn containing a small amount of Ga and investigated the effect of Ga ion doping on the mechanoluminescent properties. The ML intensity becomes two times lager by adding 0.1mol% Ga ion to ZnS:Mn phosphor, and the intensity decreases with increasing the concentration of Ga ion. In ML spectra of Ga-doped ZnS:Mn, the peak shifts are small and the peak widths are narrower in comparison with those in the photoluminescence spectra.
