Abstract
We examined the effect of PVB solubility in non-aqueous alumina slurry on structure of green sheets. Alumina slurries with xylene and isopropyl alcohol were prepared to compare PVB solubility and its influence on the structure of green sheets. Solubility of PVB and the dispersability of powder in slurry were examined by apparent viscosity of the slurry. The structures of green sheets fabricated by a spin coating were closely associated with solubility of PVB. The sheet with fine texture was originated from slurry with good solubility of PVB.
