Abstract
Mesoporous silica can be prepared through various synthetic pathways. Layered silicate kanemite is a promising starting material for the retention of molecular periodicity in the parent silicate. Precise design of organosiloxane oligomers can also be utilized for the precise design of porous silica. Morphological control of mesoporous silica is also very interesting and mesoporous silica films with well controlled mesostructures and colloidal mesoporous silica nanoparticles with very small particle size can also be prepared.
