Abstract
Porous geopolymers with oriented cylindrical pores were prepared by an extrusion method. Geopolymer/ PLA fiber composites were prepared by mixing precursors of geopolymer (sodium silicate, metakaolinite, NaOH and H2O) and PLA fibers in diameters of 13, 20 and 29 μm and 500 μm in length. After extrusion molding, they were cured and dried at 90oC, and calcined at 330oC for 24 hours to obtain porous geopolymers. Capillary rising and water retention abilities of the resulting geopolymers will be discussed in the presentation.
