Abstract
Oxynitride phosphors, CaAlSi(N,O)3:Eu2+ were synthesized by heating appropriate mixtures of CaCN2, CaCO3, AlN, Si3N4, and Eu2O3 in N2 and/or N2/H2 mixed atmospheres. The emission peak position of CaAlSi(N,O)3:Eu2+ was shifted to the short wave length side compared with CaAlSiN3:Eu2+ as prepared from the CaAlSi alloy precursor.
