Abstract
Smaller than 60 nm nano-size hollow silicate particles using solution type composed of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles (Ca(OH)2:H3PO4 = 1.75:1, synthesized by Tanaka et al) as template (core) coated by silica and then acid treated was successfully produced. This novel-type of synthesis for nano-size hollow silicate particles with hydroxyapatite (HAp) as template may works well with various nano-materials application without involving sophisticated/ toxic process and can be well suited for in vivo studies owing to the smaller nano-size (less than 60 nm) as compared to the existing hollow silica particles.
