Abstract
In this research, the rice husk was pyrolyzed in argon to prepare SiC.The SiC formed at the epidermis and the wall of graphite cricubes were mainly nanowires having diameters of about 100nm and length up to several tens of micrometers. The particles was formed on the pore walls, whose particle size was about 100-200nm.Close to or in the pores, SiC nanowiskers were obtained. A completely transformation from Silica to SiC was achieved if the pyrolysis temperatures were up to 1600 degrees centigrade.
